Ties to Tuscany

Every Illumina Murano chandelier begins with a conversation between places, materials, and traditions deeply rooted in Italy.
What makes our pieces distinctive is the way different forms of craftsmanship come together to create something entirely unique.

Ties to Tuscany

Our chandeliers are built on handcrafted wrought iron frames, forged in Tuscany by a workshop with which we share a long and personal history. Shaped into intricates branches, leaves, and grapevine forms, these structures are inspired by the Tuscan landscape itself - organic, elegant, and quietly expressive.

Forge and Furnace

That connection to Tuscany is part of our story. Many years ago, our founder spent ten years there teaching mosaic design and traditional craft. Surrounded by the textures, colours, and rhythms of the countryside, Giorgio first imagined combining the the different skills honed at the forge and the furnace - the sculptural strength of artistic wrought iron with the delicate beauty of Murano glass.

Giorgio on his 90th birthday

Today, at 90 years old, Giorgio's vision continues to guide everything we do.

Each decorative glass element is handcrafted in Murano using traditional Venetian techniques, then assembled by hand into compositions that balance delicacy with structure, colour with form, and creativity with craftsmanship.

For us, authenticity is about preserving relationships with artisans, respecting traditional skills, and creating pieces that carry the character of the people and places behind them.

Every chandelier tells that story in its own way.
